We travel on to one of the most famous coastal areas of Italy: The Cinque Terre, a twelve kilometers long coastal strip in the region of Liguria. Of the in total 5 villages we are visiting the picturesque former fisherman’s village “Riomaggiore” and during the sunset hours the village of “Portovenere” which isn’t part of the Cinque Terre but nevertheless absolutely must-see.

S2 – E3 – Italian Road Trip Day 3 – Infiorata in Montefiascone & Bolsena
by hageriniby hageriniOur plan was to visit the two charming towns Montefiascone and Bolsensa at the lake Bolsena, a lake of volcanic origin. By accident, we stepped into one of the most important holy festivities the “Corpus Domini” also called “Infiorata”. In both towns the locals decorated their streets with long flower carpets in which later a religious procession took place. It was absolutely fascinating with how much passionate work the inhabitants are preparing and celebrating this christian solemnity.
