S2 – E4 – Italian Road Trip Day 4 – Vald D’Orcia, Radicofani & Bagni di San Filippo

by hagerini

From Bolsena we’re driving directly into the Val D’Orcia, a valley in the southern part of the Tuscany. The valley is famous for its picturesque Tuscan villages which are embedded in aesthetic hilly landscapes with cypresses and green fields. The landscape has been shaped over the centuries by the peasants to represent Siena’s idealistic model of a good government (Allegoria ed effetti del Buono e del Cattivo Governo) also in the hinterland. We spend the night in a typical agriturismo and discover the hidden natural springs in the wood of San Filippo and the fortress of Radicofani.
